Location: Arch Street Meeting House, Philadelphia
According to a Quaker tradition, those buried in the Arch Street Meeting House burial ground were interred without gravestones or other physical markers. According to Philadelphia Yearly Meeting, the Quaker community to which the Arch Street Meeting House belongs, many of the gravesites are located under what is now the meeting house’s parking lot. Although records indicate that Charles Brockden Brown was buried somewhere within the meeting house walls, then, the exact location of his gravesite is unknown.
